Mike Song’s Easy Guide: How to Set Up iPhone, iPad etc. Parental Controls:

Hey Parents!

You see your kid playing on his/her iTouch or perhaps your iPad or iPhone.  What’s to prevent him from seeing some really nasty stuff on-line? Nothing!  Unless you take 2 minutes to set up some Apple device parental controls.

Here is how to do it on all of the Apple i devices:

  1. Go to Settings/General/Restrictions
  2. Click on Enable Restrictions
  3. You’ll be prompted to create a simple 4 digit restrictions password.  Keep it secret – keep it safe.  Hide it from your child.
  4. With the flip of a switch you can turn off the Safari web browser and YouTube.  This really cuts down on the bad stuff a kid can see on line.
  5. Scroll down to the Allowed Content section and change the settings for Music to Clean - Ahhhh – no more explicit death metal or violent gangsta rap!
  6. Under Allowed Content, change settings for TV, Movies and Apps to those appropriate for your child’s age.

It is incredibly easy to do and it will give you peace of mind to know your kids aren’t listening to or watching stuff designed for adults.
